The regular safari tour on the Black and Broad rivers uses comfortable and safe pontoon boats to take our guest on a fifty minute long cruise to see the birds, plants and crocodiles that make this stretch of river in the lower morass so exciting. The unusually docile member of the crocodilian species Crocodylus acutus or American croc makes the lower reaches of these rivers their home as they prefer the brackish water. They are often seen basking in the sun as they warm up their bodies to aid digestion of the previous nights meal. The boats all have canopies but guests are still encouraged to apply sunscreen and bug repellant and wear comfortable clothing and shoes as the tropical heat can be searing even with the constant breezes from the ever present trade winds.
Guests can upgrade this tour to the combo tour if they choose to at the sales desk on arrival at the Irie Safari.
